Bell's palsy only affects the motor function of the seventh nerve (peripheral, outside of the brain) so it should not affect your brain cortex and its function. If you have any doubt, please see a neurologist. Good luck.

It is highly likely that this facial problem has resulted in your becoming self-conscious amongst other emotional reactions. Bell's palsy does NOT cause cognitive issues, and if these are now present, search for a new explanation. Otherwise, see a Cognitive-Behavioral therapist and address your challenges.
