A member asked:

Hi, i'm trying to figure out a puzzle. i had an auto accident on 2/15/23. i had concussion and mri 10 weeks after on left knee and it looks like i have an acl & meniscus tears. if i had no prior pain and do now how can it be chronic tear. confused?

The term "chronic" refers to an appearance on the MRI that at least some of the "ACL and meniscus tears" may have occurred prior to your recent accident. The pain currently may have resulted from the accident, but aggravated the tears, so that pain is now a part of that occurrence.
