How about 2 liters?: Drinking water can help with weight loss if it is substituting for other drinks that contain calories. Drinking water (or plain green tea) before a meal can also fill up the stomach somewhat, and make a person satisfied with a smaller meal. If substituting water for non-fat milk, one would need another source for vitamin d and calcium. Caution when >2 liters/day (excess water dilutes the sodium).

Yes and no: We normally need to drink between 2 and 3 liters of water by day. While it is good to stay hydrated beware of overdoing it. Water has zero calories in it . While watching calories coming from fat and carbohydrates may help u loose weight eating healthy and drinking water not soda etc .. Will also help.
