Can someone cooking/handling your food give you some form of hepatitis? sounds absurd to even ask but im curious if this is possible and how likely it is in the us?

This is possible for hepatitis A, but only rarely; and not for any other form of hepatitis. Occasional outbreaks of hepatitis A in restaurant customers have occurred because of poor hygiene by HIV infected flood handlers. Most hepatitis A results from close contact with an infected person. Many people your age have been vaccinated against hep A; if so, you are immune.

The only type hepatitis that could be transferred by handling food is hepatitis type A. This is usually a mild illness like the flu This would be a very rare occurrence.
