Regarding getting hepatitis b from a handshake what if i have an open cut. would his blood have to come in contact with my open cut? sounds extremely unlikely possibility but i don't know?

The blood from a person with active hepatitis B virus could transmit the virus to an open wound on another person. Therefore, medical personnel know to wear surgical rubber gloves when the potential exists. Handshaking should be avoided if the risk is known.
