A member asked:

If a dentist couldnt find an issue with a new crown that has been causing food lodging issues, should i visit a prosthodontist instead? if i plan to get invisalign in the near future, should i get invisalign before or after getting my crown fixed?

Good questions. Unless moving the tooth to close the "gap" was part of the restorative plan, the new crown should close the space properly. Go back and ask for the work to completed (redone). Every dentist should be able to solve this problem and certainly a Prosthodontist.

Speaking to the Orthodontic issue, it is best to reposition first, then do final restorations. Restorations done to an existing malocclusion may not be an appropriate size or shape to fit the spacing and occasion of corrected tooth positions, Temporary crowns made in the long axis of malposed teeth, to be replaces with final restorations post-occasion correction, are preferable.
