A member asked:

You fall with your body weight predominantly on one hand, your wrist bends, rather than pressing into the palm of your hand for stability, your wrist buckles under the weight, you land on the the wrist/back of hand- is it possible to break something?

Falling on an outstretched hand is the easiest way to break your wrist. Best not to fall.

Well described mechanism for fractures, even though not as common as a fall on an outstretched hand, Smith or reverse Colles fracture affecting distal end of radius and among others, specifically fractures affecting the small bones that connect the hand.
