Every time i take ibuprofen for my chronic herniated disc pain, it gives me palps which turn into a panic attack. is there any safer anti-inflammatory or is this something i should just take and get through?

There are many NSAIDs you can try as everyone is different, I would ask PHARMACIST for local ones to try.

You do not reveal where the herniation is or details regarding risks to nerve roots or the spinal cord. Ibuprofen might temporarily relieve symptoms but is not curative and, as you note, does have side effects. If possible, engage in physical therapy and exercise instead. Do discuss your issues with your doctor. If you are patient, the disc will desiccate and shrink over 9-10 months.
