Never,never rub your eyes hard. No one should. This affects your cornea,lens,etc. Even patients who have had lens implants should be told this. Scleral buckle surgery rarely has to be repeated unless injury or infection has occurred. Your ophthalmologist is best qualified to answer your questions.
