Sinus tachycardia can result in an increase in blood pressure but it can also cause the blood pressure to decrease or even stay the same. There is no way to predict on an individual what the blood pressure will do-part of that depends on how fast the heart is beating. So, when the heart is beating fast, the blood pressure is checked to find out if there is any effect on the blood pressure.
