The time lost in that activity can be converted into engaging in activities that will bring you into social situations where a sexual partner can be acquired. By itself, the habit is just a time looser, it does not hurt your body.

Try keeping yourself busy by any of these activities- meditation, music, social work, sports, any creative work. The best is to resolve to change this habit and that you are the boss of your body and the habit is not. You can do it!- good luck
