How fast can you develop left ventricular hypertrophy from high blood pressure?

I've seen many patients with longstanding poorly treated hypertension who never developed LVH. I think a lot depends upon the degree of high blood pressure,sustained versus intermittent and presence of associated obesity. In completely untreated significant hypertension I've seen reports that LVH develops within several years. It takes that long for ventricular remodelling to occur.
