A member asked:

If i were to extend my neck forward and look down for long periods of times could that cause a spinal cord injury? i strain to look down and hunch a lot, when i go back up to correct my posture it feels like im putting my head too back. possible ?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

The cord is wrapped in protective layers/fluid that are designed to avid this problem. Discomfort you may feel would be muscular in origin. If you had a congenital defect in the spine or degenerative changes there you may have more discomfort or a risk of cord/nerve root problems. The movements as cited are not a problem.
