Bright red blood coming from any site implies tissue injury. Whether that be a tear/abrasion/scratch/etc. it means the capillaries were exposed and blood lost. If it is a trickle and stops quickly the site may self heal. If it persists it may need an exam. Keep the site clean and monitor it over a few days. It will likely be fine.
