Endometrial hyperplasia is an increase development of endometrial glands that can be categorized as "with or without atypia". In other words, EH "without atypia" is non-cancerous, and "with atypia" is associated with risk and progression to endometrial carcinoma. Diagnosis can be made with endometrial biopsy, dilation and curettage, or hysterectomy specimen.
