A member asked:

2cm fibroadenoma diagnosed and biopsied last year, no follow up required, its growing slightly, cause for concern?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Most fibroadenoma are about 1-3 cm in size and are same all over under the microscope, are known as simple fibroadenoma. They do not increase the risk of cancer in the future. When fibroadenoma is more than 5 cm in size, it is known as a giant fibroadenoma. If any fibroadenoma has different features of cells, it is known as complex fibroadenoma and it can increase risk of cancer very slightly.
