Is it constant or intermittent? A blood clot would likely be more constant. Blood clot pain is not typically described as sharp. But, the only way to know for sure would be an ultrasound of the leg-thigh and calf. Is there any risk factors for clot-injury, immobility, clotting disorder, etc.? See a doctor to get testing done to be certain. Good luck to you!

Electric type, stabbing pain in a muscle is typically caused by nerve injury, irritation, or a pinched nerve. It would be highly unlikely that this would be caused by a clot in a vein or artery.
