I too have been interested in this association as I have been recommending omega 3 fish oil for many years & take it myself. but only in the moderate dose range&my take on it at this time is to continue recommending purified liquid omega 3 fish oil but limit it to 1000 total of EPA&DHA especially in people who have any degree of atrial irritability. Krll oil a good substitute at a lesser do(500mgs

The best doctor to ask is your cardiologist since he/she knows your situation the best. But, fish oil in the usual recommended doses is not likely to increase atrial fibrillation. Are you taking blood thinners to prevent stroke? Is your heart rate controlled when you are in afib? These are considerations that will help answer your question. So, have your cardiologist weigh in on this question.
