A member asked:

My mother sometimes forgets if she took atorvastatin once a day as prescribed. since she forgets if she took it or not for the day, is it better for her to take it again and possibly have it twice a day? or is it better to discard it for the day?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Since atorvastatin is not like insulin or blood pressure medication, I usually recommend waiting until the next day rather than potentially taking too big a dose. Going a day without it isn't dangerous. Her prescribing physician, who knows her history & baseline lab results is really best to answer your question.
