You : You should be perfectly fine. Lipitor (atorvastatin) is dosed anywhere from 10mg-80mg, so a one time 40mg tab should not cause any harm.
Consider putting any meds you do not currently take in a different location then the ones you take at present. This should help prevent a mix up in the future.
