A member asked:

My baby (4 months) has fever. i have inserted an empaped 125mg suppository. 10 minutes later he had a bowel movement. do i insert another one or will the first one do the job?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

You should be able to find the remains of the suppository in the fecal debris and can repeat if it appears near intact. It usually takes an hour or so for a suppository to be completely absorbed. If you can't find any remains of the suppository do not repeat.
