A member asked:

What can you give a baby of 8 months to help regular bowel movement? tried suppositories, reuterina drops, lacson and. milk of magnesia and extra liquids

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Dietary management: It might be a normal bowel schedule for your baby if he passes soft stool, except when there is a problem with hard stool , cramping and swollen belly etc . The best solution would be to encourage strained fruits and vegetables , reduce formula intake to 16oz or so daily and give oatmeal or barley cereal . It is better to avoid laxatives and medications , unless advised by the doctor
