I take wegovy once weekly and four days ago i injected my deltoid and i must have pushed hard because it hurt for about 20 minutes afterward. for days it was fine. today was cleaning and pain in that one spot of the injection began again persistently?

Inspect the site thoroughly and note of any swelling, redness or change in skin color. Because the pen and needle are made for subcutaneous injection so it is less likely the needle can go in very deep. If the site looks fine you can apply local warm pack for pain relief. If you see any suspicious local symptoms, see your doctor for double check. Use a different arm, tummy or thigh for next shot.

We've seen a couple of cases of subdeltoid tendonitis from covid vaccinations this past year. If you go on to have persistent deltoid pain aggravated by motions of your shoulder, tendonitis secondary to your injection from pushing too deeply into the tendon would be my diagnosis. On the other hand, if deltoid pain quickly improves it would be unlikely to be tendonitis& be from minor trauma.
