A BPD diagnosis can be challenging because symptoms often overlap with other conditions. They may include emotional instability, being impulsive, and having fears of abandonment or feelings of emptiness, among many more – too many to list here. A psychiatrist, psychologist, or clinical social worker are best able to diagnose someone with BPD based on a review of a person’s symptoms and history.
