Occasionally treatment for UTI fails and the prescribing Dr needs to reevaluate and change the medication, dose or treatment. Pain in the lower back sides may indicate that the infection has gone to your kidneys (pyelonephritis). It is vital that you see your prescribing Dr for follow up ASAP.
