Urine culture came back positive for uti and on cipro. still have frequent urination and protein and specific gravity in urine, any ideas on what this can be?

Your data is vague. Was a urine culture done and the germ sensitive to cipro? All urine, normal or not has a specific gravity. You did not specify the amount of protein. Was a repeat culture done to see if the germ was killed? Without more info it is hard to know if the drug failed or you have an unrelated bladder infection (cystitis). Best review the info with your treating doc.
