This really is not possible to predict without knowing more details. For example, is the person still drinking alcohol? Is the person a transplant candidate? There are treatments that will extend the life expectancy so being under the care of a liver specialist is important. Avoiding alcohol and other medications that are primarily liver metabolized is also important. Best of luck to you!

In decompensated cirrhosis ( with any of its possible complications present) prognosis is limited to 1-2 years for most of the patients and based on different studies. The Child Pugh calculator may help in estimating prognosis as well, available on line.
