A member asked:

If you have group strep a moving to your bloodstream would you test positive for strep throat as well?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Germs are rather specific to the area they target. Strep A usually enters the body through the mouth, causing a simple strep throat. If by chance strep A were in the bloodstream, it could have entered there from another site. It would not necessarily show up as a positive test for strep throat.
