A member asked:

I'm past menopause. i am 57 yrs old. every month to 2 months, i start getting night sweats. do you think it's hormonal & if so what can i do?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Menstruation from ovulation is reduced to absent, but since stimulation of the ovaries is increased at this age ("57"), there is fluctuation of estrogen production, and when the level drops, symptoms such as "night sweats" and emotional responses are common. Ask your GYN physician about low dose oral contraceptives, as this stage in life will be more comfortable.
