Typically, it would not spread that quickly to distant sites. When they remove the tumor from the lung, they typically also take some lymph nodes that are nearby. If the lymph nodes nearby are positive, you will likely need some additional treatment, like chemotherapy or radiation. If the lymph nodes are negative and the margins are clear, you will be monitored with scans going forward. Good luck!
