I was staged on january 4th to see if my lung cancer had spread outside the lung . i havent had any treatment as of yet and im scheduled for surgery next week. it will be march 8th. could my cancer have spread since january?

Typically, it would not spread that quickly to distant sites. When they remove the tumor from the lung, they typically also take some lymph nodes that are nearby. If the lymph nodes nearby are positive, you will likely need some additional treatment, like chemotherapy or radiation. If the lymph nodes are negative and the margins are clear, you will be monitored with scans going forward. Good luck!
