My father has been diagnosed with bowel cancer that has spread to the lungs and liver. surgery is not being offered only chemotherapy. prognosis pls?

Ask the oncologist: The oncologist treating your father is the best person to ask this question, and will have all of the necessary data to offer an estimated prognosis. In addition, the oncologist will be able to assess the response to chemotherapy.

Not good: Sadly, his prognosis is poor. Surgery isn't an option. If he responds to chemo, he may get a little extra time. He should see a palliative care physician as well as an oncologist.
