A member asked:

Could straining or activity in your leg cause a dvt?

DVT is not typically caused by activity or straining. On the contrary, risk factors for DVT are sedentary levels of activity (sitting for prolonged periods) as well as any hyper-coagulable state (people that are prone to developing blood clots). If you think you are suffering from DVT, you should visit the emergency room. However, DVT is very rare in 26 year old men.

No, activities will be protective, however trauma or swelling for any reason may constitute a predisposing factor to DVT, many such cases appear unprovoked and they could not be linked to activities or prolonged immobility (otherwise recognized predisposing factor).
