Gastritis denotes inflammation in the lining of the stomach in particular. You can have inflammation in the intestine, that is unrelated to the gastritis. If you have distention after meals, I would follow up with your GI doctor to discuss lactose, fructose, or other food intolerances, SIBO, or celiac disease. If you have diverticulosis, make sure you are on a regimen to prevent constipation.

Although it is possible to have information anywhere in the digestive tract, it would not be called gastritis. Gastritis is only present in the stomach itself. When present, it is often due to bacteria in the stomach. If you continue to have gastrointestinal symptoms, see your doctor or get a referral to see a gastroenterologist. Good luck.
