You should see a doctor to determine why you are having chest pain . Was it one time or does it come back? Are you short of breath at the same time, light-headed, etc.? You may need some tests on your heart and/or lungs to find out what the cause of this pain is. It could also be chest wall pain from muscles, cartilage, etc. So, see a doctor for diagnosis and treatment. Good luck!

Agree with Dr. Ferranti' s comment and advice. By the pain location, esophagus (food pipe) may be involved, especially the pain is short lived. If pain recurs, you should see your family doctor. Take care!
