Most likely, Physician wants to take his/her own CT, and not utilize someone else’s CT. That is just how Physicians act.

In this scenario, unless you have further symptoms, the doctor has likely determined that the risk of the radiation from the CAT scan is not worth any extra information that the doctor would gain from a repeat scan. If you have new symptoms or if you have any questions about that approach, you should ask the doctor. Good luck.

There may be concern regarding too much radiation or concern about receiving the IV contrast which can affect kidney especially if you have diabetes or hypertension. That said the usual standard of care is not to repeat the CT which is most likely why MD said no, but follow clinically.
