The usual test for food allergies and environmental allergies does not involve taking a hair sample. I am not aware of any tests on the hair that could detect these allergies. The usual test involves a patch on the skin, often on the back. Good luck.

I agree with Dr. Seibert. There are also some food allergies that are tested for with a sample of blood.
