Hard to say: If your HCG is still rising, you may not be miscarrying after all. See what the ultrasound says, and accept either conclusion.

Depends: The us might show you did not miscarry or if there is not a live baby you will probably need a d& c to clean your womb. They are checking because with rising HCG levels it is not clear what is going on and the us will help to know.
