A member asked:

Hi. i had a std test 17 days after low risk exposure. at the time of the test i had been on amoxicillin for 6 days for a sore throat. the std tests were negative for chlamydia and gonorrhoea. could the amoxicillin have caused a false negative?

Amoxicillin would not cause a false negative in this setting, but if you are having symptoms of an STD, you should return to your doctor to get rechecked. Good luck.
