I had an energy drink an hour ago. i have a cold and was trying to wake up a bit for work but i also need to take some cold medicine. i read you shouldn't combine the two. how long should i wait till i can take my cold medicine?

If the cold medicine does not contain pseudoephedrine you can take it anytime. If it contains pseudoephedrine, you should wait for 4 hours after the energy drink. However, if you do not have history of hypertension or heart problem, I do not worry much about the interaction for just one time. The caution has to be there because the combination is harmful to certain people with chronic illnesses.
