I have a family history of hematological malignancy. i understand that a cbc may provide possible evidence of a hm which requires further investigation. but can a cbc miss early signs of a potential hm because it simply cannot test for everything?

Since we consider multiple myeloma, AL amyloidosis,Waldenstrom's macroglbulinemia hematologic malignancies, for example, a routine cbc& differential cell count will usually not detect these bone marrow plasma cell malignancies.

Just got my CBC back and WBC is 3.1. Lab cutoff is 3.5. The past two years my WBC was 3.6, so I tend to trend low. I've been reading about low WBC and cancer keeps popping up and I'm very worried. Could this be an early cancer sign?
