Possible infection: Sometimes the inside of the nostrils becomes infected and can cause the tip to become red and swollen. It usually improves with antibiotics applied inside the nostrils or oral antibiotics. If these measures don't work then may be autoimmune attack or vasculitis affecting cartilages.
