Carbuncle?: Sometimes nasal hair cells get infected but they are usually tender. Also redness can occur if you wipe your nose too much. Try some warm compresses to the areai am not a big fan of Claritin d because i prefer my decongestents give to the site of the problem (nose)rather than systemically where they can cause palpations.

Turbinates: What is swollen in your nose are called turbinates and they swell up with a cold and allergies and can block your nose ( you have 3 on each side). Every 2 hours the swelling switches from right to left and back.
