This not true and is a common misconception. On the contrary, long term uncontrolled hypertension leads to kidney failure and eventually some folks end up on dialysis. Kidneys regulate blood pressure in the body. These antihypertensive meds , properly dosed based on kidney function,prevents the outcome. Also regular follow up with kidney specialist is needed to ensure kidneys are functioning well.
