I was told since i have kidney failure and i have to have dialysis that i automatically qualify for medicare or medicaid but wasn't able to why?

Social worker: You don't automatically qualify for Medicaid unless certain financial worth criteria are met. Medicare is for senior citizens. I recommend that you contact the social service department at your local hospital and one of their social workers can help you understand your current insurance status and what programs you could be eligible for.
