There is medicine that can be given if you think you have been exposed to HIV. Have you been tested? Perhaps you should go to a different doctor for another opinion. Without knowing what your exposure is, there is no way to know how serious the exposure is. That’s something your doctors need to know to figure out what the treatment should be. Best of luck to you!

No matter what symptoms or exposures you have had, you cannot know if you have HIV without an HIV blood test, and you should not be treated until you have had a positive test result. If you have not been tested, your doctor is right. Get tested.
