If you have irregular heart rhythm or have abnormal pauses (gaps between the beats), and you feel like passing out or feel like short of breath, need to get examined by your PCP ,along with an EKG.Need to r/o conduction problems of the heart in addition to organic problems like valve disorders You may need more imaging studies in addition to EKG ,such as xray chest,ECHO for coming to a diagnosis.

I agree with Dr. A's advice that you need a cardiac evaluation to determine what type of cardiac arrhythmia you're experiencing & wearing an outpatient monitor for 48 hours or longer will be key. I suspect you're having premature beats followed by a compensatory pause causing lightheadedness. If so, reduce caffeine & alcohol intake may help until your visit with the cardiologist.
