Oral chlamydia is uncommon, and positive tests often detect low level infection, and oral infection rarely is transmitted to partners. It also clears up on its own within a few weeks; even without treatment, your test result would become negative soon. However, it is reasonable to play it safe, to be treated with doxycycline. But it might make no difference in your sore throat. Good luck.
