It really depends on the severity whether or not you need hospital care. If the symptoms are not too severe and you are able to drink plenty of fluids and keep from getting dehydrated, then it can be treated at home with oral antibiotics. Although mild cases can be treated at home, severe episodes of pseudomembranous colitis from C. Difícile must be treated in the hospital, and sometimes in intensive care unit. Good luck.
