Currently on valsartan 40mg. my blood pressure usually goes up to 160/100 when i'm anxious, but is 110-118/64-74 when relaxed. can i increase the dose to 160mg or 320mg to lower the maximum bp or does it only work on baseline bp at rest?

It is imperative that you consult the doctor who prescribed the medication. You may need a different treatment to address your anxiety, rather than increasing the dose anti-hypertensive medications.

If I lay down flat for three minutes and take my blood pressure it is 123/86. If I stand up, and remain still, and wait three minutes it goes up to 142/107. Is this normal? I'm taking the lowest dose of valsartan daily?
