You really don't have to rinse following an extraction. There is a risk of dislodging the blood clot which can result in a dry socket. If you rinse or brush with salt water as part of your oral hygiene routine, wait at least a week to ten days.

Rule of thumb is to wait 24 hrs. after extractions. I would then mildly rinse area. I would not rinse vigorously. Don’t want to dislodge blood clot.
